Guest guest
I second the vote for Lotrimin. It's the best thing to do in this situation. As is diaper free time if you can manage it without a mess (don't know what your weather is or what your circumstances are). In this situation it's much more important that the pneumonia was treated. Yeast infections are painful and the diaper is a wonderful warm moist environment for yeast to grow. I bet you won't have to use the cream more than a few days. I hope your daughter feels better. Mine also had pneumonia when she was little. She was out of diapers early and was so weak she had to be put back in diapers because she was too weak to walk to the bathroom (she was not quite 3 when she got pneumonia) And she didn't care about being back in the diapers. That's how I knew she was really sick. A couple of days of antibiotics and she was much better. How is her breathing now? I was lucky in that my daughter was still nursing so I didn't have to worry about her getting dehydrated. (yes I realize by American standards she was very old to be nursing) Sending healing thoughts for her speedy recovery! Hi Paula: I raised four daughters, three of which had chronic ear infections. Sometimes you really need the antibiotic to get rid of the bacteria. As far as the yeast infection goes, get that Lotramin on her and get that wiped out as well. Yogurt, etc. will not work so well on a toddler once the yeast has taken over. Don't feel bad about putting the antifungal on her, she's wearing a diaper and that makes it worse. I would also suggest letting her run around with no diaper on, let her air out, get some sunshine on the yeast, that will help kill it too. Hopefully, this helps....sometimes we have to use antibiotics and anitfungals especially on little ones, their bodies aren't as strong as ours in fighting off bacteria and infection. If you don't get rid of the yeast, it will come back again and again, especially as your daughter matures, and she will be miserable and above all, we don't want that. Again, I hope this helps you.... Karen PS You'll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly the Lotrimin will get rid of the yeast infection. <%40> , " Paula " <pokeracepj wrote: > > As I posted on here last week I believe, my 15 month old daughter has > pneumonia.
