Guest guest
I was at a friends house this past weekend, and was disgusted at see the grandbaby seven month old Eric had socks on his feet that went up past his knees to reach his thighs and socks on his hands and they went up past his elbows. I asked why he had them on they said because he scratches his face real bad. being a mother of four children I thought well it can't be that bad as I sat there and slowly pulled down the socks which were sticking to his skin as the sock came off. his arms and legs were covered with exczema.severely. My question is. Is there any herbal practice that can help with that first? it seems like the young mother was just covering it up and not letting it heal with the air. anybody have any suggestions? they took him to doctors but the doctors seem to just keep saying the same thing over and over. just apply this cream. thank you sincerely ME
Guest guest
This baby is allergic to something he is ingesting. My guess is that it is soy milk. I have seen this in many of my clients, especially as a red rash on the face or sometimes on the inner legs. When I suggest that the mom please switch from soy formula, the little ones rashes go away. If he is nursing, then check the mom's diet and see what she is ingesting that might be causing the problem. Hope this helps. Nancey
Guest guest
Hi, Two things I would ask... Have the tried a Naturopathic Doctor? And, is the child drinking cow's milk formula? Perhaps a soya alternative needs to be sought out.
Guest guest
When did it start? Is the Mom breastfeeding? If she is, then there can be something in her diet, something in babe's diet, laundry detergent, soap, lotion, environmental (pesticide, etc.). If Mom is not breastfeeding and dairy-based formula is used, then it's probably due to a dairy protein allergy, although it can still be laundry detergent and the others I mentioned. All the creams in the world will not uncover the root of the problem, they will only mask it. There is something called Wet Wrap Therapy http://ezinearticles.com/?Wet-Wrap-Therapy-for-Eczema-Treatment & id=345074 that just may help him while she figures out what's causing the problem. Our baby broke out in moderate to severe eczema last November. We had changed nothing in out diets. I had him tested last week for food allergies - all came back negative. In the last three months I systematically started removing all cleaners that contained surfactants and petroleum based detergents and soaps. Which, was basically every cleaner - laundry soap, dish soap, automatic dish detergent, all commercial shampoos and conditioners - pretty much anything I bought at WalMart or grocery stores. We started suspecting the quality of his digestion. We eliminated all processed foods and white sugar, white flour and vegetable oils that are all made from GMO ingredients. I started soaking our grains and looking for free range eggs - the kind that had lots of nutrients. We also started our baby on probiotic, cod liver oil then high vitamin butter oil. We use a cream called Florasone, available at the health food store and also at various online stores. Any creams or topical solutions will help the symptoms, but to relieve the underlying cause you need to look at digestion and probably have the child tested for allergies then remove the foods he is allergic to for awhile. If the tests come back negative it is probably a combination of poor digestion and chemicals in the home - which are everywhere; on the dishes, in clothing, in hair, etc. Soy milk is a poor choice for infants and humans and should be avoided. -vanessa

Guest guest
Keep in mind though that the only true test for an allergen is an elimination/addition diet. There can be both false negatives and false positives on the traditional allergy tests. Samantha ______________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Samantha: I'm not sure which health group I got this information from, but those that I have told about it have success. It's cinnamon and honey. If anyone in this group knows the email I'm referring to, please resend it...for exczema the ratio is 1:1. So mix up say 3 tablespoons of honey to 3 tablespoons of cinnamon, make a paste. Apply the paste to the rash and leave on for as long as it will stay on. Maybe wrap the area up in cotton gauze to keep it in place since we're talking about a baby. Keep applying the paste as needed or until the rash goes away. Honey and cinnamon in different ratios and ingredients help alleviate or gets rid of symptoms, etc. quite well. Neither ingredient will harm your baby and from what I've been told it really does help. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, on its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists: HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins. ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol. (By the way. if you're taking cholesterol medicine STOP!
