pasturized juice is dead. the heat used to pasturize kills all the

enzymes and nutrition in the juice. also, juice should be consumed right

away. the nutritional value declines the longer it sits. So for a juice

fast use fresh organic fruits and vegetables and make your own juice and

drink it immediately or juice for the day and keep what don't consume

immediately in a vacuum sealed bottle and drink it that day. buy a

juicer. they aren't that expensive.

Hi to all...I'm up to my second day on a modified juice fast (I'm also

eating organic fruit bars for a little fiber). Have never felt better,

but would fasting for five days (an entire workweek) be too long? This

is the first time I've done this. Thanks!

Hi Melinda,

A week would not be too long if the fast is done properly.

I have done one before. It included 5 juices per day (apple/carrot),

with psyllium husks for fibre. Also betonite clay and a 'green super

food' powder (which I had to omit as I couldn't stand it I'm afraid!).

An herbal supplement which helped keep peristalsis in the gut moving

in absence of solid food. Colemas twice per day.

Also plenty of water and herbal tea.

And this was at a retreat - so no pressure to do anything but rest.

Yoga, Chi Qong, meditation, etc. were on offer if you were up to it,

but we were encouraged to rest if we didn't feel up to anything else.

So I think you can do what you're doing - just make sure you are

getting adequate fluids, especially water, and rest - let your body

get on with detoxing without interference.
