Guest guest
Hi Gea, He is right, water cant go bad unless its contaminated. I have one of those stands that I put one of those huge bottles on, and its always fine. Its so much better than tap water, it does not last long, but I clean it with a bleach water once in a while. Guest guest
Dear Sue, The only time Distilled Water gets toooooo acidic is when it is left out without a cover since it picks up CO2 very easily. As soon as you make your distilled water, put it into an old gallon Apple Juice Glass Bottle, put the top on it, and you'll have no pH problems with it. As far as the N system you mentioned below, I am down on all MLM and this one is no exception. Distilled stored in Glass Bottles is BEST. Guest guest
Unless you're drinking a ton of the stuff and not eating nutritious meals, I can't see distilled being a problem. I'm been using distilled for over a dozen years, and use it to make teas, etc as well. Nary a problem. Also, no problem with the thousands of people I've recommended it to. You just need to use your noggin as with anything else. You can die from too much water. It's called drowning. :-) Best, Doc PS. For your low potassium you should be on the Body Balance+ Formula as in the Files. Harold wrote: Dear Doc..... I was recently hospilalized for irregular heartbeat. Blood test shown my potassium was low possibly causing this problem. I eat healthy and an avid believer in vitamins and supplements.I researched possible causes for depletion and found that besides other meds.etc. that one should not drink "distilled"water as all the minerals our body requires are removed. This is the only water I`ve drank in over 12 yrs. Is there some supplement that can be added to this water. Note: I live in the country and use well water as my supply. Thank You.... Guest guest
Early Death Comes From Drinking Distilled Water by Zoltan P. Rona MD MSc During nearly 19 years of clinical practice I have had the opportunity to observe the health effects of drinking different types of water. Most of you would agree that drinking unfiltered tap water could be hazardous to your health because of things like parasites, chlorine, fluoride and dioxins. Many health fanatics, however, are often surprised to hear me say that drinking distilled water on a regular, daily basis is potentially dangerous. Paavo Airola wrote about the dangers of distilled water in the 1970's when it first became a fad with the health food crowd. Distillation is the process in which water is boiled, evaporated and the vapor condensed. Distilled water is free of dissolved minerals and, because of this, has the special property of being able to actively absorb toxic substances from the body and eliminate them. Studies validate the benefits of drinking distilled water when one is seeking to cleanse or detoxify the system for short periods of time (a few weeks at a time). Fasting using distilled water can be dangerous because of the rapid loss of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) and trace minerals like magnesium, deficiencies of which can cause heart beat irregularities and high blood pressure. Cooking foods in distilled water pulls the minerals out of them and lowers their nutrient value. Distilled water is an active absorber and when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The more distilled water a person drinks, the higher the body acidity becomes. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, " Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved by distilled water. " The most toxic commercial beverages that people consume (i.e. cola beverages and other soft drinks) are made from distilled water. Studies have consistently shown that heavy consumers of soft drinks (with or without sugar) spill huge amounts of calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine. The more mineral loss, the greater the risk for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and a long list of degenerative diseases generally associated with premature aging. A growing number of health care practitioners and scientists from around the world have been advocating the theory that aging and disease is the direct result of the accumulation of acid waste products in the body. There is a great deal of scientific documentation that supports such a theory. A poor diet may be partially to blame for the waste accumulation. Meats, sugar, white flour products, fried foods, soft drinks, processed foods, alcohol, dairy products and other junk foods cause the body to become more acidic. Stress, whether mental or physical can lead to acid deposits in the body. There is a correlation between the consumption of soft water (distilled water is extremely soft) and the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Cells, tissues and organs do not like to be dipped in acid and will do anything to buffer this acidity including the removal of minerals from the skeleton and the manufacture of bicarbonate in the blood. The longer one drinks distilled water, the more likely the development of mineral deficiencies and an acid state. I have done well over 3000 mineral evaluations using a combination of blood, urine and hair tests in my practice. Almost without exception, people who consume distilled water exclusively, eventually develop multiple mineral deficiencies. Those who supplement their distilled water intake with trace minerals are not as deficient but still not as adequately nourished in minerals as their non-distilled water drinking counterparts even after several years of mineral supplementation. The ideal water for the human body should be alkaline and this requires the presence of minerals like calcium and magnesium. Distilled water tends to be acidic and can only be recommended as a way of drawing poisons out of the body. Once this is accomplished, the continued drinking of distilled water is a bad idea. .... Disease and early death is more likely to be seen with the long term drinking of distilled water. Avoid it except in special circumstances. ---------------------------
Guest guest
I and my family have been drinking and cooking with distilled water for five years. People don't believe that I don't color my hair, because at age 50 I have no gray hair. The school nurse recently claimed, " Your kids are never sick. " Besides the quotes below, here is a link for more information: http://www.durastill.com/myths.html Carolyn " The only type of water that seems to be fit for consumption is distilled water, which is water that is absolutely free of any minerals or chemicals. Distilled water is made pure by first being heated to the point of vaporization, so that all of the 'impurities' are left behind. Then, the water vapor is condensed. The process results in water that is in its purest form. Distillation is the single most effective method of water purification. " A Diabetic Doctor Looks at Diabetes Peter A. Lodewick, M.D. " Water hardness (inorganic minerals in solution) is the underlying cause of many, if not all, of the diseases resulting from poisons in the intestinal tract. These (hard minerals) pass from the intestinal walls and get into the lymphatic system, which delivers all of its products to the blood, which in turn, distributes to all parts of the body. This is the cause of much human disease. " Dr. Charles Mayo of the Mayo Clinic " The only minerals that the body can utilize are the organic minerals [gotten from food]. All other types of minerals are foreign substances to the body and must be eliminated. Distilled water is the only water that can be taken into the body without damage to the tissues. " Dr. Allen E. Banik, M.D. The Choice Is Clear " There are no essential nutrients dissolved in tap water which humans depend on from this source for their survival or well-being. All essential nutrients can be obtained from foods and proper dietary supplements " Water - What's In It For You? Allen McDaniels, M.D. " The greatest damage done by inorganic minerals - plus waxy cholesterol and salt - is to the small arteries and other blood vessels of the brain (75% water). Hardening of the arteries and calcification of blood vessels starts on the day you start taking inorganic chemicals and minerals from the tap water into your bodies. Guest guest
From what I have read and because the articles were by people I respected with references too - I disagree with you both unless you add minerals to the water. Do you add minerals to the water? It is partly because of the minerals that I think that Reverse Osmosis is a better water filtering process; especially if it has a few stages to it which include a charcoal filter. But this is ONLY my personal preference - I would suggest that everybody check water filters out for themselves. Only they truly know what is best for themselves considering all the things that need to be taken into consideration. blessings Shan , " Guru K " <greatyoga wrote: > > Jim > > I totally agree with you.
