Guest guest
I follow Dr. Andrew Weil's recommended dosage of calcium. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/QAA400005 It's not a special extra dose at bedtime, just whatever calcium amount I take in a day, I take at bedtime. It had been 1,000 mg, but I recently reduced to 800 mg because of Dr Weil's revision and my exit from childbearing age. It is said you can't absorb more than 500 mg at a time, but I can never remember to take a divided dose earlier in the day, plus I know several women who complained of needing a nap after breakfast, and when I suggested they switch their calcium dose from breakfast to bedtime they no longer needed the nap. Dr. Weil doesn't say anything about magnesium on the page on the link above, but my capsule also includes magnesium, at half the amount of calcium, which I have read many times is the proper balance. -- Maria -------------- Original message -------------- Richard Silva <silvaworks How much calcium do you take before bedtime? -richard- parcheezi wrote: I used to have trouble getting to sleep because of tinnitus, but solved the problem with calcium. 5-HTP also worked when I tried it for headaches, but calcium seems safer.
