Wanted to know if anyone on this forum has found any natural cures that

have really worked to bring down blood sugar.

I have already changed my diet, exercise, and take supplements, and it

has helped me feel better. Also has helped me maintain, but have not

yet found any product that really bring down the numbers !

Any information would be helpful

Thanks

The truth hurts but: " GIGO " (Garbage In=Garbage Out). Yes, I'm a doctor

and I have diabetes; I ate badly my whole life and I'm paying for it

(Insulin & foot neuropathy) I rapidly brought my blood-sugar levels

under control using reasonable dietary modifications, reasonable

exercise and a lot of supplements. 1) REDUCE sugar foods (sugar

substitutes may be ok [NOt aspartame, etc.] til you notice you can go

by candies & sweets without them smelling good, then stop them). 2)

CHECK your sugar-levels often! (Meters are not over $50-60. & can even

be free. Keep your levels below 150 & above 75 as a general rule.

Check 2 hours after a meal occasionally also. DON'T forget your MD!

Aso find a good Naturopath in your area. Expect to take 45 minutes the

first visit. 3) Don't go overboard on supplements until you've been

tested...you can waste your body & your money easily. Handled

properly, you can expect to enjoy a few selected sweets in your future

and live quite normally.

My cousin takes Apple Cider Venegar before meals an it works for him.

Google it for doesages. He still has to eat right but he doesn't have

to take the pills. That was his goal. He still checks it regularly.

Or better yet, chromium picolinate which is helpful for diabetes as

well as hypoglycemia. You can purchase it in 200 mcg or 500 mcg.

Determine which strength to take to severity of blood sugar levels.

This supplement has really helped my sister control her blood sugar

levels; she has Type 2 diabetes.

You can spend a lot of money playing with suplements you really don't

need. Find a Homeopathic PHYSICIAN (MD(H) or Naturopathic PHYSICIAN

who will examine you, order specific tests and then advise you what

supplements or treatment you need. One visit to that doctor will cost

less than you spend for one month of OTC supplements and you'll feel

better!

There are some studies that are not too favorable to

chromium picolinate. However, chromium polynicotinate

seems to be better. Taking chromium more than 400 is

not too good. I myself take chromium polynicotinate

at noon time only and it is 200mg and does its work

just fine.

Dear Alobar,

Ray Sahelian's website has this to say on taking too

much chromium:

Q. Just need to know if Chromium Picolinate can build

up in the body or is it easy processed by the body. I

am taking 200 mcg twice a day and 150 mcg in my

vitamin tablet. One doctor was worried abou it beoing

a metal and building up in the body. I read in he

paper that in Isreal they gave 200 mcg twice a day for

diabetes any help would be appreciated.

A. For long term use, it probably would be best to

limit the use of chromium to less than 300 mcg a day

since it can accumulate. However, different experts

may have different thresholds of the upper limit of

chromium picolinate supplement dosage.

There also are varying " research " materials with

negative reports on both chromium polynicotinate and

picolinate. I guess it depends on who funded the

research.
