Guest guest
Hi In response to your question about using Melatonin---I used to work night shift--for 25 yrs.--I was unable to sleep for many hours at a time. I was lucky to get 3-4 hours most of the time, so when I did sleep I needed to get some GOOD sleep. I found that Tryptophan worked great and was not groggy at all. WWEELL that was taken off the market and I went to Melatonin and at that time I needed 3 mg. to get rest. That went on for a long time at 3mg. and now I only need 1 mg. I was first told by and ND to try 1-3 mg to see what would fork for me and also told that if one does not need it, it will not work for them either. I have had friend that used it and it didn't work at all. They might as well have taken a glass of water. So from my experience, try 1-3 mg. Start with 1 mg and go from there. Good luck. Fran Hi I'm new here... Has anyone had any experience with Melatonin.. I'm a nite shift worker and want to adjust my sleep on my days off.. I work the overnite shift 12 hours, get home at 7:30 am, get between 4-6 hours of sleep.. Guest guest
None øf know everything, but I have learned to respect the chemical power of our brains: Consider trying the supplement 5-HTP, 50mg about 30 minutes before bedtime. 5-HTP is the pre-cursor of melatonin and will help your brain work better in doing its' job. ********************************* , " Fran " <frannyjo wrote: > > Hi In response to your question about using Melatonin---I used to work night shift--for 25 yrs.--I was unable to sleep for many hours at a time.
