I have occasional sleep problems. I wake up after an hour or two and then

have trouble going back to sleep. I started using Melatonin about a month

ago, but only occasionally --don't want to make a habit of it. It works

pretty well. I usually sleep very well through the night (except for

getting up to pee, and then I go right back to sleep). I have not noticed

any ill effects.

Hi,

Before I even suggest you see your MD (who would likely prescribe

Lunestin, a good medicine but with heavy side-effects & costs about

$4. per dose), consider this before Melatonin.

Why? 5-HTTP is the pre-cursor to Melatonin and can really help you get

some sleep without dopiness or hangover. But you should know that we

humans have a built-in body-clock that is set for night-time sleeps.

If you have a good Naturopath or Homeopath where you live, get their

advice first. A few nights on 5-HTTP may help solve your problem...

I've been using melatonin for 2 years now and it works very well

for me. I started out taking the 3mg. sublingual, now all I need is

half of one plus a B12 sublingual dissolved under the tongue at the

same time. Having fibromyalgia, sleep is very important to my health.

The suggestion of keeping the room as dark as possible is also helpful.
