symptoms. BUT, these are symptoms that patients have had WHILE ON Thyroxine

T4-only meds (Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothyroxine, etc) and with a “targetâ€

TSH!

Cough.

But there’s MORE! In order to qualify to be on this list below, these ALSO

had to be symptoms which were totally eradicated when these same patients got

* _Blood Pressure problems_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/blood-pressure/)

* Varicose Veins

* Dizziness from fluid on the inner ear

* _Low body temperature_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/temperature/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/temperature/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/temperature/)

* Raised temperature

* Tightness in throat; sore throat

* Swollen lymph glands

* Allergies (which can also be a result of _low cortisol_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/) –

common with hypothyroid patients)

* sore feet (plantar fascitis); painful soles of feet

* now how do I put this one politely….a cold bum, butt, derriere,

fanny, gluteus maximus, haunches, hindquarters, posterior, rear, and/or cheeks.

Yup, really exists.

As you read the above list and some of the symptoms as your own, you have to

now make a paradigm shift in the way society and doctors have taught you to

ascertain whether you have hypothyroid or not. Namely, you have to make

SYMPTOMS your primary clue, NOT labwork. Labwork should only serve as

additional

information, NOT as the initial force of reality. If you continue to look at

labwork as THE answer, you are no better than hundreds of thousands of doctors

around the world who have kept thyroid patients SICK! That is especially

true for the _TSH_ (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/) , besides the

total T4.

Once you understand that SYMPTOMS are the clue, you can pursue _correct and

beneficial labwork _

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/) as additional

information.

Next, you _find a doctor _

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/how-to-find-a-good-doc/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/how-to-find-a-good-doc/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/how-to-find-a-good-doc/) who’s ahead

of the game, because he understands that SYMPTOMS are the main force, and

that desiccated thyroid is the treatment of choice. You may have to drive

farther to a good doc than any doctor you’ve ever had. But it’s worth it.

Additionally…no matter how excellent of a doctor you find, you need to

become educated about what patients ahead of you _have learned_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/things-we-have-learned/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/things-we-have-learned/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/things-we-have-learned/) , and what

_mistakes_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/mistakes-patients-make/)

_http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/mistakes-patients-make/_

(http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/mistakes-patients-make/)

you do not want to make. NO DOCTOR IS PERFECT, so YOU are your own best

advocate.

Seaweed helps to prevent some damage because it's high in iodine.

I live in Ireland where more than 50% of the public water supply is

fluoridated. Ireland has a high percentage of the population with

hyperthyroidism - very unusual for an island where there is a lot of

iodine in the air.

I get an awful headache when I drink fluoridated water. By chance I

found that aloe vera helps to get rid of them nearly instantly. It

makes sense. Fluoride is an ageing factor. Aloe vera is an

anti-ageging factor.

Most Irish women who have the genetical make-up for beautiful skin

have signs of prematurely aged skin.

Yiamouyiannis, John, Ph.D. wrote a book Fluoride- the Aging Factor

Best source of information is the fluoridealert.org website

FLUORIDE & the THYROID GLAND

According to the US National Research Council, " several lines of

information indicate an effect of fluoride exposure on thyroid

function " - particularly among individuals with an iodine deficiency.

Fluoride's potential to impair thyroid function is most clearly

illustrated by the fact that -- up until the 1970s -- European doctors

used fluoride as a thyroid-suppressing medication for patients with

hyperthyroidism (over-active thyroid). Fluoride was utilized because

it was found effective at reducing the activity of the thyroid gland -

even at doses as low as 2 mg/day.

Today, many people living in fluoridated communities are ingesting

doses of fluoride (1.6-6.6 mg/day) that fall within the range of doses

(2 to 10 mg/day) once used by doctors to reduce thyroid activity in

hyperthyroid patients. This is of particular concern considering the

widespread problem of hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) in the

United States. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include obesity, lethargy,

depression, and heart disease.
