Guest guest
Hello, My five-year-old daughter caught a cold in late November and has had a lingering cough ever since. I've taken her to the dr. 2X to listen to her lungs and she is fine otherwise except for this cough which is really annoying. It sounds like she's constantly trying to clear her throat and usually sounds very dry except for now that she's getting over another cold which made the productive cough come back again. Now she is having issues with post nasal drip which is causing her to sniffle a lot and cough more. She feels fine, has no temp, and the cough doesn't wake her up at night. I have been giving her some extra vitamins A & C & echinacea this week to help her get over the cold and hopefully to get rid of the lingering cough once and for all. Once in a while I give her elderberry tea with honey, and I am constantly pushing the fluids even though she is never thirsty. I've given her homeopathic cough medicine but it doesn't do anything. I am very open to homeopathy, but I am very new to it and can't find a remedy that seems to suit her symptoms. I'm also not into giving her OTC cough medicine at all. I also don't think it is necessarily better or worse after being active, but is maybe slightly better after being out in the open air. Just thought I'd ask here because this has been going on for such a long time. Thanks for any suggestions. ~ Tamara
Guest guest
Make oregano tea from fresh leaves. Then add a bit of honey. Melly
Guest guest
This is a good idea & one I think she'll allow us to do! Thanks. ~ Tamara
