Guest guest
Generally speaking, the FDA " gives crap " --as you phrased it--to manufacturers who make unproven claims* for their products. Many manufacturers get around this by making NO CLAIMS on their packaging and, perhaps surrupticiously, distributing separate pamphlets that tout the ingredients in their products as being cures for this-and-that. Now, the FTC is a whole other ball of wax. They generally only go after people if consumers lodge complaints against them for fraud and the like. Do you know what they've been accused of, specifically? Cyn *It's prohibitively expensive to " prove " such claims, as extensive, double-blind studies are needed. Only " Big Pharma " can typically pay for such things, and they usually won't do it for ingredients that cannot be patented, such as natural products.
