Cordyceps is good for the lungs. It is also one of the 4 mushrooms in the

AHCC formula for fighting cancer. Maitake, Shitake, Reishi and cordyceps are

all cancer fighters. Also for people having lung problems cordyceps helps

breathing better. I get mine at herbaladvantage.com

Corydceps is a parasitic fungus it grows on the larvae and pupae of insects like

moths or butterflies. There are allot of different varieties. The largest part

of the fungus is below the ground or in the rotted wood where the larvae would

be.

There is a D.O. here that is really into medicinal mushrooms and he has taken me

out through the woods showing me all kinds of wonderful fungus. It is amazing

how with the weather being slightly different each year one or another fungus

has an advantage and there will be a bumper crop of one kind and you will not

see the other kinds for years. Because we had a huge wind storm two years ago

and it blew down allot of Hemlock trees in our area there were Ganoderma tsugae

every where on the downed trees last year. This species prefers Hemlock, it is

also called Hemlock varnish shelf.
