Guest guest
My foot doc confirmed that I have a nueroma on my left foot. I've been using those metatarsal pads to help pull the bones apart and give some relief. It's working, but there's still swelling. Doc told me if the swelling doesn't go down he wants to do a cortisone shot. If that doesn't work, surgery. Anyone had any experience with this? I can't seem to find where this is dangerous or " bad " . -vanessa
Guest guest
I had a couple in my right shoulder a few years ago and I had another one in my left shoulder a few weeks back. The injection is far, far better than the oral cortisone. The oral produces many significant side effects. Because the injection places the stuff locally it is not a problem. Still, there can be residual damage to local tissue. Three is the limit of injections allowed in a year. I would try everything else before getting a cortisone shot. However, if everything else isn't working then they can be considered. If it can tame the inflamation and end the pain and ongoing damage it is well worth it. I think that it is a better alternative than surgery as well. It sounds like you have tried many things. Fish oil, elevation, ice packs, etc. Do anything to avoid letting them cut on you except as a last resort. , " Vanessa " <vandalsem wrote: > > My foot doc confirmed that I have a nueroma on my left foot.
