Guest guest
Ever since I joined this list about 6 months ago, I have been searching for black walnut hulls (picked green, of course). I have not been able to locate anything other than black walnut hull POWDER (yuk!)....and am running out of ideas for sources. Where are you finding this product? If it's not appropriate to email to the group, please let me know by private em. I would really appreciate it. I made this without the hulls, but am eager for the " real deal " ! Guest guest
Dear Ann,I copied this from a past email (Jun 8th response from Doc Ian Shillington): " As far as the Black Walnuts Hulls are concerned, you want to collect the hull immediately after they fall on the ground. Store them in a cool dry place until they turn completely black and hard. Then break 'em up and powder them. You should then make a tinture out of them using alcohol. " Black Walnut tincture is used with the Total Tonic, found in the files under " Doc's Recipes " . Also - what other benefits do they have? Thanks. Ann

My computer was out of commission for awhile. I am still reading through old messages. Thanks for telling me about Anna's. I know where that is. However, as I understand it, we need to use the green walnut hull, not the black one as it is too old. Where would one get the green hull?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The walnut is called a black walnut. You use the green hull from it. The hull is green first and then turns black (but is then rotten). The nut is ready though. (Barb
