Guest guest
I too suffer with GERD and asthma as well as panic attacks. I have been doing a lot of research and have found that they can all go hand in hand. I had my gallbladder out in 1984 and I now have what they call bile gastritis which can trigger panic attacks. I know that it has become worse in the past year since I have put on an extra 20lbs. I am going through menopause which doesn't help, in fact it seems to make it worse. Any suggestions Linda ---- assisipittrice 2/26/2008 7:01:17 AM Re: Excessive phlegm in throat When I had problems with GERD (reflux) this would happen as soon as I would lie down to go to bed. It annoyed me and my husband went crazy. First I took an acid reducer but then I decided that was not the root of the problem. I now stop eating earlier in the evening (3 hours before bed), I have reduced my portion sizes so my stomach is not so full, and I have lost 50 pounds. If you are overweight, reflux is a possible problem. But, I also found this happens from asthma. When I got an albuterol inhaler, I found my problem was solved in 15 minutes. Now I have to figure out what is causing the asthma so I can eliminate the source of that problem. It is not my bedding. Good luck figuring it out and I hope others have plenty of advice for you. My doc said it was post nasal drip and shrugged his shoulders and nothing was done for over 5 years. That was no answer. GERD is easy to do something about with diet. Asthma is not quite as easy and I have found I need pharmaceutical intervention unfortunately. But, I can stop clearing my throat and go to sleep. When my cat died, it got better so I am thinking I was allergic to her hair. I dust meticulously. Just some allergy related ideas.
