I was struck by a car 4 years ago, while walking through a parking lot.

Previous to that I was very active. Due to the myriad surgeries and the

medications I hardly moved. I also put on a great deal of weight. I

have decided to perform a complete doctorectomy and I recently stopped

taking all medications, pain meds, antidepressants, nerve pain

pills...and I honestly expected to feel better than I do. I am really,

really beyond tired. I am currently right in the middle of a

detoxification program...1-1/2 months. It contains some really great

vitamins and mineral supplements.

Can you guys recommend ONE thing that can get me back on the road? It's

a catch 22. I know exercise will help, but I am barely getting out of

bed. And, no, I am not depressed! In spite of this all I am really very

happy. I have an awesome husband and a beautiful four year old

daughter. They need me! I need me!

Garlic will either help or make it worse depending on your

metabolism. Try it out. Also try ashwangdha.

Many years ago, I too, was in a terrible auto accident, which entailed years of

convalesence, many surgeries, much drug over-medication, and weaning myself off

drugs and doctors, and learning how to be responsible for my own healing and

health maintenance was more years. I had been a nurse, but had to learn all

over for myself about good nutrition and Sally Fallons' book, Nourishing

Traditions, was my bible. From there, I found great benefit for my system from

fermented foods and drinks and tonics, like saurkraut, kimchi, yogurt, kefir and

kombucha tea, and fermented fruit juices and GingerBeer drinks. I also found

that I needed seasonal cleanses, for bowels, liver, gallbladder and kidneys.

Since my knees and ankles were shot, I found that doing gentle yoga stretches

and breathing helped enormously, as did a sit-down bounce apparatus, that could

give me a full workout in 15 minutes without stressing my damaged heart valves.

The next level of healing I found in energy work, using color, tuning forks,

doing accupressure and accupuncture on meridans and doing Reiki work on

charkras. But it has all been a long slow process and I will continue to learn

and grow in the healing arts till the day I go through transition! Norma
