Guest guest
I have been dealing with Celiac disease for over 2 years and I felt I had made some progress. Periodically I find that I am hammered by fatigue and suffering from leaky gut syndrome. Being a man, I am naturally somewhat dense about many things. I believe I may also be suffering from a yeast infection as well because gluten is out of my diet but I do crave sugar. Often when I binge on anything sugary, I feel just as miserable as I did before I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. ergo my current thoughts that this must be yeast and the sugar I am eating is causing a flare up. I have suspended most processed food, fruit, coffee, candy and alcohol. I am ingesting about three cloves of garlic daily, glutamine, two probiotics and flax oil. What other measures should I take to speed the infection into oblivion or to simply prove yeast isn't the issue? On a final note, I am insured but I trust most doctors as much as I trust politicians. Guest guest
Hi Chris, You may be onto something... Gut dysbiosis could be a causative factor in celiac disease. One study has suggested that a Candida wall protein is the same as some gluten fractions and because of this can cause antibody stimulation against gluten (Nieuwenhuizen et al 2003). Ref: Nieuwenhuizen WF, Pieters RH, Knippels LM, Jansen MC, Koppelman SJ (2003) Is Candida albicans a trigger in the onset of coeliac disease? Lancet. 361(9375): 2152-4. --------- I would add caprylic acid capsules to your programme - start with about 250 mg per day and work up to about 600 mg per day. --------- Some other links which you might find interesting for this topic...
