I've been lurking around in this news group for a couple of weeks now

to learn more about herbal remedy and they seem to be nice folks.

Thought you might like to check them out.

HI Buffy,

I don't have an answer for you on this one (I hope some of the other

knowledgeable folks here have some ideas or experience to share), but

your son is in my prayers.

*Hugs*

Early in October I made an a trip to Nebraska to see the middle son, who

is

a diabetic and is paralyzed on the right side from a stroke.

Now he has developed a very serious blood problem. In addition to Hep

C,

his bone marrow does not allow the production of red & white blood

cells. The

blood cells turn to fiber, which then enlarges the spleen. As this

fiber

collects in the spleen (very painful as it enlarges), it causes him to

become

anemic and then requires a blood transfusion. The doctors have said he

cannot

take anything by mouth to relieve this pain. It must be injected or

applied

topically as they don't want any oral meds (prescription or OTC) that

directly affect the blood.

I know heli is helpful with pain. Is the hydrosol effective? Would

heli EO

diluted in a carrier be more effective? Is there another EO or

hydrosol

which would be helpful here. Since he has the use of only one side of

his body,

I am thinking a spray would be easier for him to apply and less painful

than

something that requires rubbing. The doctors are open to alternative

methods, but of course the insurance is not. Then there is the issue

of

sensitization that could develop. The doctors have said he could live

another 10 - 12

years with this problem.

This list is such a loving and caring group and I am proud to be a part

of

it. You all have a wealth of information and are so willing to share.

I am

such a novice in this area, which is why I am turning to you for

suggestions.

I want to thank the moderators for allowing me to post this request. I

don't

want to clog up the list so if the moderators or any other list member

feels

this is taking up too much list time, feel free to contact me privately

Hugs,

Hello,

I have been a lurker for many moons. Anyway, I have a question and

need some suggestions.

My mom has been on plavix and liptor since 2/07. I want to add

omega 3, and CQ10 but I am reluctant because of the plavix. I told

her to ask the dr about discontinuing plavix and adding aspirin

instead of the plavix.

Currently, my mom is taking

plavix,

liptor

multivitamin

calcium 1200 mg daily

My mom had a stroke in Feb and that is why she is on Plavix.

However, if we can get the same result with aspirin then I would

like to discontinue plavix use.

any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Claire, Boston ma

I think that those medications are probably best for your mother that

she believes will help her. Personally, I no longer use help of

medical doctors. I did in the past and stopped after I had realized

that they couldn't help me. I use self-help books instead of their

services. I find those books most useful that seem to address my

unhelpful beliefs. According to one of them, I may not have even one

helpful belief.
