Probiotics are safe to give everyday. The Kid's Kyodophilus brand

seems to be the closest to human flora. The only way to not need a

probiotic supplement is to feed the body probiotics until the body

can grow it's own, which is not very easy to achieve.

Grapefruit seed extract is effective in combating yeast.

There's something unique about this particular substance (grapefruit

seed extract). Whatever it does, it does without the debilitating

side effects. It has the advantage of being very safe. In the

treatment of candidiasis it appears as effective as nystatin,

caprylic acid, and other non-absorbed intestinal antifungal agents.

It is antifungal and antibacterial and can be taken in pill or liquid

form. The taste isn't great, but you only need 10-15 drop up to

three times a day if the child will take it in yogurt or peanut

butter or something.

Have you read The Food Cure and The Mood Cure?

There is discussion on amino acid use in those books.
