Guest guest
Can someone give me the low down on gluten containing grains? My son is so uncomfortable after nursing and my preschool daughter is beyond " a phase " in behaviour. I'm at the point of trying to cut out gluten for all of us. We don't do soy and I know about dairy, eggs and corn being problematic allergens as well. Thanks! Elisa-
Guest guest
Elisa, It's good to have something I can answer. Avoid wheat, barley and rye. You should also avoid oats because they are frequently contaminated with wheat. Rice has become your new best friend. You will have to be diligent about reading all labels. In my family, my eldest son and my daughter are gluten sensitive. The allergy can cause a myriad of symptoms and some of them are a result of the gut's inability to produce seratonin. If there is truly a gluten problem, you will also see excema in various places on the skin. The lining of the skin condition relates closely to what is going on in the gut. Guest guest
Gluten is in wheat, rye, barley and contaminated oats. You have to read labels. It can be found in many things. In my opinion, especially watch out for ground spices. I believe gluten is added to make them free flowing. Hope this helps. Carla In a message dated 12/31/2007 4:55:46 P.M.
