Guest guest
I am presently looking for anyone in NJ who belongs to or knows of a Health Freedom organization in NJ. I am both a Reiki practitioner as well as skilled in Medical QiGong and just learned that NJ Bill 4455 would require licensure under Massage Therapy/Bodywork. They tried doing the same here in NH for Reiki practitioners. Both Reiki and Medical QiGong can be done without touching the patient/client, so this categorization is a bit troubling. We have a great health freedom organization here in NH that helped to rally behind the Reiki community and was able to have certain language removed from the bill here. I was hoping to find someone that my fellow QiGong practitioners in NJ can link up with and dialog about this bill to legislate Qigong. Many thanks for your help. That doesn't seem to be the case. Reiki and similiar approaches are exempt. http://www.abmp.com/members/legislative/NJ.html " Practitioners who would be considered exempt from the proposed law, as long as services are not implied to be massage and bodywork therapy, would be: a.. Practitioners who limit soft tissue manipulation to the hands, feet, and ears. b.. Reiki and similar energy work as determined by the board. c.. Practitioners who use touch, words, and directed movement to deepen awareness of existing patterns of movement in the body and the client remains clothed. " This is as of 11/28/07, at least.
