Moderator's Note: I also posted about this today and included links to easily

find your senators & representatives.. Though this is not per se under the

scope of a bill- I think it is good to put pressure everywhere we can- because

quite honestly the USDA has a history of not listening to us- ie. " pasturized "

almonds.

----------

The USDA has a comments deadline of Monday, December 3, to oppose their plan

to irradiate all green produce ostensibly to " protect us " from E Coli

bacteria. EASY ACTION BELOW. They're planning on doing this due to a problem

stemming from E Coli contaminated spinach from some huge factory farms.

As the article below explains, this procedure might be necessary for

gigantic factory farms, but it would be WRONG to apply " one size fits all "

regulations to ALL farms, especially to small family run organic farms. They

note

especially that there are many types of vegetables that have NEVER caused E

Coli

contamination.

re-362)

Just as USDA recently decided to destroy the nutritive value of raw almonds

by Pasteurizing them, this latest is one more part of the broader corporate

agenda - only this would be FAR more reaching in its negative scope.
