Guest guest
I have an inexpensive soap jeweler, but to be honest, a good ol' fashioned potato peeler works the best for me! This is the soap beveler that I have, though, in case you are interested: http://www.pigdogfarm.com/resource/psrprod.htm#tools Debbie deb Luxury for your skin, body and soul www.debrasrhapsody.com > So, speaking of tools, I've been wanting a soap planer or jeweler to > trim the edges of my handcut soaps. Guest guest
Thanks Debra! I usually use a paring knife, but sometimes a potato peeler. Just thought it might be easier with a jeweler. Guest guest
For those of you who use soap trimmers for your soap edges. Try this and see if you like it better. Actually less waste. Learned it a few years ago from another soaper, now don't use a trimmer or peeler unless I'm want to. Get a sponge that has the scrubby thing on one side. Fill your sink with the hottest water your hands can stand. Dump your soap bars in the hot water( at least 3 week old, doesn't have to be totally cured, unless that is when you trim) scrub the edges lightly with the scrubber then use the sponge on all the soap. Then set on a rack to dry completely. This not only " softens " the sides, but brings out the luster of the soap bars. Just try it on a bar or two, and see if you like this. Do it as quick as you can, so you don't melt that much soap. Anita in TX
