Guest guest
all y'all messed up - I took a theology degree - and haven't had to take a math class since high school. tee-hee. Only scare I had was when I was " qualified " (sic) in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. I had to pass a test on psychometrics. By that time, I had experience in validating tests for courses I designed, so with some horse sense, I was able to pass. So some advice: If you are math-phobic, and don't need a real degree, try theology ;-). Guest guest
No, no, Kathleen. *I* am the biggest b**** in the Bay Area. Ask my kids. I was once voted " Meanest Mom on the block, but makes great cookies " . (That was in Salinas.) Ask my staff. (Colleagues transfer people to me so I can fire 'em.) I am a flaming introvert, with reasonable extrovert skills (I fell into this training career when the ex-DH refused to pay child support and it was the ONLY job I could get 22 years ago where I could manage with only irregular moonlighting to support 3 kids alone). So now I manage 50 people who work hard not to make me cranky! Actually, the really competent ones love me, cuz I leave them alone to excel and get them lots of rewards. The ones with potential love me cuz I'll coach 'em. The incompetent ones hate, and even sue, me cuz I take away their right to have a cushy job without producing worthwhile results. All this is, of course, IMVVHO. The theology degree? I didn't have to take math, and could excuse my refusal to do linear theology or linear anything (the German stuff) and other weirdness by cultivating a reputation as a mystic. I had almost flunked my high school freshman algebra course - the teacher had been my next-door neighbor and despised my brother and me. He threw chalk at me and made fun of me. Boy, did I love school that year! And can't imagine why I refused to ever take another math class! I guess, after 30 years, I could get over it, eh? Oh, oh, and if I only knew then about the powers of rosemary as a study aid!! (Like how I brought that on-topic??)
