And I say to this .. hawg warsh!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole idea behind use of essential oils is to be able to have the

control of one's own health .. this requires informed decision making!

Those who can't handle themselves should not drive cars, should be real

careful with sharp or pointed objects, never cross the street except at

corners and when there is a traffic cop there, and NEVER EVER have

unprotected sex even if the partner offering it is one they have pursued

for years and they suddenly find themselves without a condom, should not

ride in airplanes, drink and walk, chew gum and talk, or do anything

else but sit around with an idiot grin on their faces. ;-)

People must be responsible for being responsible .. I understand that

social democratic governments are trying to take responsibility from the

people but Gawd help us if we go that far in the USA. We are already

telling people they must wear motorcycle helmets and seat belts and a

few other things that harm only the one who wants to exercise their

personal freedom of choice .. but I will never agree with the mentality

that is common in many other countries.

Where do we draw the line when dealing with stupidity? We can't even

legislate against it .. so we educate .. and we ensure that people who

buy the WHOLE, UNMANIPULATED Bergamot are told of the hazards of misuse.

We tell them to NOT drink the Pennyroyal .. don't use oils neat .. or

should we maybe not sell oils at all cause some idiots will use them

neat? Where do you draw the line? Tell me!!!!!!!

Thankfully, the US Courts have decided that they will not allow stupid

and greedy people to sue fast food joints when they get fat .. and they

are going to require the fast food joints to tell folks in advance what

is and ain't in the fatburgers. A while back some liberal idiots wanted

to sue the makers of firearms and ammunition when some other idiot shot

someone .. but nobody has dealt with the issues that really cause folks

problems .. like Sunday morning preachers on TV screaming for cash from

old folks on pensions, and major megabuck pharmaceutical companies doing

all they can to suppress inexpensive treatment for Americans .. and con

artists like Gary Young taking advantage of those who need to follow a

charismatic guru and turning their backs on needed medical treatment in

order to buy YL crap with promises of miraculous cures .. and on and on

and on.

If anyone thinks they cannot deal with essential oils safely and in a

manner that will not cause harm to themselves and others then they might

want to consider just leaving them alone. :-) Butch

Butch,

I agree that people should be responsible for themselves; however,

this person just heard that EO's were 'natural.'

And Natural = Good = Safe to someone who doesn't know any better.

I was gifting them a product, not an essential oil. I discovered

that they didn't know any better, and didn't use it as directed. I

don't think it's a far stretch to assume that one could spray

a 'natural' room spray on themselves.

Therefore, I think, for peace of mind, I need to put warning on a

product if it contains a known problem oil and there is a strong

chance they might use it on their skin. Most of us in AT spend lots

of time and money trying to educate ourselves about the oils and how

to use them - it's a BIG job. Especially with all the

misinformation out there, I wouldn't expect that the general public

would know any better.

There's some really crazy/creative/hopeful/insane people out there.

Sometimes the difference is only perspective.

A few years ago I though people in AT were lonely unhappy little

candle sniffers. (grin!)

Yes, people need to be responsible for themselves, and ignorance

isn't and excuse under the law. But this isn't the law, and I want

to do my best keep people from harming themselves. If I was on a

Jury, I might have a different opinion.

Thanks for the nice comments from Martin and Chris.

Anybody have access to Chocolate Mint Hydrosol? I had it a few years

ago, and it was great.
