Guest guest
I was leaving the house yesterday to go to the pharmacy and a lady who was walking with her dogs flagged me down to ask if I was the lady who makes soap. I was a little puzzled, so I said, " Um.. yes...? " It turned out that she had stopped at the craft fair mom and I were at a few weeks ago; she had bought a bar of the tangerine- ginger soap I'd made and wanted to tell me how much she was enjoying it. I thanked her and said that it's always wonderful to get feedback from customers, especially positive feedback, and that I was glad she was enjoying the soap. I've only had one complaint since I began soaping, and that could hardly be called a complaint. An elderly friend was a little disappointed because her soap had melted; that was before I started adding beeswax as a hardening agent, and since then I've never had a single complaint except about prices. The way I see it is this: if you want yucky, chemically soap made with beef tallow, then you can go to Walmart and get something. If you want something that's handmade and has good stuff in it, then you have to be willing to PAY for it. I usually charge between $3 and $3.50, dependng on the size of the bar and what's in it; people keep telling me I'm not charging enough! Thanks for letting me blab..
