Wisteria Floral Essence - VERY LONG!

Reporting back on my wisteria flower essence project ... Chris - you asked

how my flower essence and tincturing processes differ. I have always thought

of tinctures as the menstruum extracting the plant goodies while in the

dark. The flower essence really wants the sunlight.

 

I use the sunlight/water method (ref. http://www.bfvea.com/making.html).

Since the sun disappeared after putting my bowl out on the first day, I

extended the process with an extra day in the sun. All of the color was

pulled from the blooms but the water was more of a rose color than purple

.... but full of fragrance. Once the water portion is gathered, you mix with

alcohol. Remember ... I had my version of a wisteria tincture in a closet?

That was the alcohol I mixed with the water portion. THIS STUFF IS

AWESOME!!!!!!

 

I'm going to re-infuse new blooms into the rest of my alcohol ... using the

Jeanne Rose method posted on Monday ... change the incubator to my

refrigerator instead of my herb closet. Currently, my tincture is ok,

fragrant, golden-color (not purple) ... I'd like it stronger.
