Floral waxes contain detectable traces of solvent, since they are by-products of the absolute making process, which is done via solvent extraction of the plant material. To dissipate any traces of solvent that your wax may have, remove your floral wax from the package and place it out in the air to " breathe " . The more surface area of the wax you can expose to the fresh air the better, so you may want to cut any large chunks into small sizes, or melt and mold them into thin shapes. One easy way to do this is to take a baking sheet, lined with waxed paper, and pour your melted wax onto this. It is then very easy to remove the floral wax from the waxed paper when cooled and it can then be cut or broken into small pieces. You will begin to notice a big difference in the scent within a matter of hours, as the last traces of solvent dissipate and the true floral qualities come through. This recipe makes a light and airy, wonderfully floral scented shea body butter (using the floral wax of your choice) Spring Fling Floral Shea Body Butter: 3 oz Unrefined, Light Colored, Shea Butter 1 oz Virgin Coconut Oil 1 oz Floral Wax 2-4 drop Rose Otto (optional) Begin by whipping the Shea Butter at a high speed in an electric mixer. Note - your Shea Butter needs to be soft, at room temperature, to do this. Meanwhile, warm the Virgin Coconut Oil and Floral Wax over very low heat until the wax is melted. DO NOT OVERHEAT! I find that it is best to turn off the heat under the oil/wax mixture when the wax is not quite completely melted, and then let it continue to fully melt without the heat on. While warm, slowly pour the oil/wax mixture into the whipping Shea Butter. Add drops of Rose Otto. Continue whipping until light and fluffy. Place into containers. Enjoy! *Smile* Chris (list mom) Pesticide Free - Tested Grade " A " Shea Butter & Virgin Red Palm Oil Produced In Accordance With Fair Trade Federation Standards http://www.alittleolfactory.com
