Guest guest
An extract from one of the articles on Martin Watt's archive page .. http://www.aromamedical.com/articlesarchive.html Misinformation On Aromatherapy Issues. " Absolutes should not to be used for therapeutic purposes " . IN FACT several floral absolutes have been extensively tested on humans for adverse effects and are passed as safe if used in the appropriate amounts. Several absolutes are permitted food additives under EEC, FDA & WHO regulations. Solvent residues are subject to International regulations, and these levels are only a few parts per million if for food use. Therefore, the use on the skin in aromatherapy is perfectly safe, provided the maximum levels recommended by RIFM are not exceeded. As absolutes are cold processed, they represent the perfume found in the living plant much more closely than the equivalent distilled essential oil. It's the principal of the thing. If I go to all the trouble to make something WITHOUT artificial ingredients, I'm going to have that include my oils and I'm not really caring that it's only 1 part per million or 600 parts per million. >shrug< But that's just me. Not starting an argument here (or if I am, it's entirely accidental), just presenting my point of view. K Cheers!
