Guest guest
Possibly a university lab could test for you .. > and that's a place to start. Its what I use when I test oils here in > Turkey. Great idea! Does Purdue offer this? They seem to have a really nice botanical(?) program going. > Which lab is that? Its should not be a trade secret. ;-) The Lab is Spectrix w/Elizebeth Van Buren. Spectrix is Mrs. Van Buren's husband I believe. They are connected as in, listed on NAHA yellow pages directory. Mrs. Van Buren is Elizabeth Jones of NAHA listed as Pacific District Director > For roughly $50 each I can get tests done at Mustafa Kemal University > here .. so if you run into a blank wall .. I'll give you the contact > point and they can take care of you. Wow! Thanks so much! That sounds like a lovely idea! Great prices too, much better than what I have found! > Some say a 2-3 ml .. some want 5-10 ml .. and I have always suspected > that those who want 5-10 ml have a pretty good stash of oil. ;-) Would you say that requiring 10ml is a dishonest practice? > Wackum from this end. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Thanks again Butch! Love, Paris
Guest guest
Hey Paris, > Hi All! I am wanting to have two oils tested. I have looked into who is > doing this and can only come up with people who sell oils as well as test. > Is this not good? Why? I can think of no reason why its not good .. unless the one doing the testing is the one who sold you the oil. Odds are against a lab existing just for the purpose of testing EO .. that's not as big a thing as some folks think. Possibly a university lab could test for you .. and that's a place to start. Its what I use when I test oils here in Turkey. > One of the laboratories that I found is also connected with NAHA??? Hard to say if that's true or not. They might be listed under NAHA or say they are approved or some such but I doubt if any lab is actually connected to NAHA. > Not sure what to think about that. Which lab is that? Its should not be a trade secret. ;-) > Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for someone here in the US? For roughly $50 each I can get tests done at Mustafa Kemal University here .. so if you run into a blank wall .. I'll give you the contact point and they can take care of you. > Also, when you send a specimen, how much oil is needed for the test if it > is just going to be a GC/MS? Some say a 2-3 ml .. some want 5-10 ml .. and I have always suspected that those who want 5-10 ml have a pretty good stash of oil. ;-) > Thank you for your help in this. > Love, Paris Wackum from this end.
