Guest guest
Thanks, Butch! I was trying to convey to her that taking it internally would probably be her best bet...I don't know if someone told her to use it externally on her rash, but that wasn't the gist of what I was getting from her. I'll tell her to ask her doctor...they know all anyway...at least SHE thinks they do, 'cept of course when her friends preach that gospel!! The friend has probably been listening to Cass Igram on the radio .. or maybe read his mini-book where he claims Oregano is good for everything from Aphids to Zits .. or maybe to some Young Living bovine excrement. > So does anyone have any idea if there are any contraindications to using > oregano oil and how it is best taken and what dose? There is no dose cause its not medicine .. sniffing is the best way to go .. or putting a drop or two in a soup to make it taste nicer. As for contraindications I know of none at all in the use of Oregano but there might be depending on the medications she is taking .. best to run it by the doctor who is treating her. I think the biggest danger is sensitization .. even though Oregano is not a know sensitizer she can still become sensitized .. same as folks do with Lavender and Tea Tree. And using any essential oil on an open wound or broken skin .. which is likely to be the case with a rash, is flirting with sensitization. And if she does have liver problems then using an EO on broken skin is going to put more pressure on the liver. The best you can do .. methinks .. is advise her not to use it. That's my take on it. :-( > Thanks a bunch for any info! :-) > Kelly Beers Welcome fer shur .. good luck .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
