WE sell by volume... it is just flat out simpler than measuring every wee bottle... but we buy by both weight and volume... sometimes liters, sometimes gallons... and sometimes kilos and sometimes pounds. and then we have to convert our cost into ounces or mls to know what we have in each wee bottle. or big bottle. most distillers can tell us. it is safe to guess that THIN oils are btwn .95 or .85 specific gravity... ie a lb will be more than 16 fl oz... I normally guestimate the heavy oils as more than 1.0... I would vastly prefer to overestimate my cost, when in doubt.
