Guest guest
Hey Paris, > Ok, Butch! LOL! I'll not lump again! Swear! Great! ;-) Last post of the night .. heading out the door now. If I owe somebody one .. it'll be tomorrow. > How many millilitres of EO are there in the Kg of oil you sell on your > wholesale site? Kilos is a WEIGHT .. millimeters is a VOLUME .. so the answer cannot be determined EXACTLY without figuring in density and before I would start doing that I will quit the industry and go fishing. ;-) > Can I be sure that it would be the same wherever Kg was listed on > any site? No way .. regardless of the site a kilo is 2.2 pounds .. unless you wanna split 1000s .. its actually 2.205 carried out to 5 more digits. A Kilogram is 1,000 Grams ......................... WEIGHT Avoir Ounces ... 1 Avoir oz = 28.35 grams ......... WEIGHT A Liter is 1,000 Milliliters ...................... VOLUME Fluid Ounces ... 1 fluid oz = 29.573 ml ........... VOLUME We learned units, ten, hundreds, thousands and ten thousands in the first or second grade .. then we started applying the antiquated system and forgot all that we learned .. the USA has been trying to convert to metrics for a long time .. almost all the bottles of liquids have both systems on them .. but we resist. Americans are rebellious people by nature .. and I will never fault that .. cause its one of our strengths except for determining weights and measures. ;-) I am not sure what you are trying to learn. There is an answer to every question .. not always a good one and not always the one we wanna hear but there is an answer and in this business the answers are standard. So tell me exactly what you are trying to determine and I will help you get there .. or someone else will. ;-) > Love, Paris And to you .. keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com >>>1. How many millilitres are in a Kilogram of essential oil? >> >>Hard to say. Its like asking how many apples are in a barrel of >>oranges. ;-) >> >>>I just cannot convert mL to Kg on it. >> >>Nor can anyone else unless they wanna do one helluva lotta math and they >>gotta start with density. >> >>>After much going back and forth I now know why though!...I think! LOL! >> >>Good. ;-) Its because we Americans insist on using an antiquated >>system so we often get confused on weights and measures .. if we used >>the metric system we could avoid that confusion. >> >>Most American dictionaries have a section in the back that lists all the >>various weights and measures. >> >>Fluid ounces ........ is a Measure .. 1 fluid oz = 29.573 ml >>Avoir ounces ........ is a Weight ... 1 Avoir oz = 28.35 grams >> >>That tells us that millimeters are also measures and grams are weight. >> >>A 10 ml bottle will hold the same amount of pure water and molten lead, >>and the pure water will weigh exactly 10 grams .. but the molten lead >>might weigh 70 or 80 grams .. depends on the density. >> >>Why will 10 ml of pure water weigh 10 grams? Because pure water is the >>standard used by man as a starting point for determining conversion of >>densities in order to convert weights to measures. Thus, pure water has >>been assigned a factor of " 1 " .. but almost every other liquid in the >>world .. to include sea water and essential oils .. will have a plus or >>minus 1 density. So .. if we wanna do the math to convert weights to >>measures we gotta know the density of what we're converting. >> >>Science hasn't yet figured how to convert the other things I listed >>unless you use a lot of math .. and start with densities.
