Calculating Costs ** Is there such a thing?

Hard to say. But if I had such a program I would not trust it.

But I can tell you how to calculate the cost of essential oils .. not

sure what products you are dealing with but the costs can be calculated

using the same system. You simply figure costs by the milliliter ..

add shipping to the cost of the products and determine the per ml cost.

 

Add the cost of bottles and labels .. and you're almost there. Adding

the cost of your own time is sorta Lala Land but there are some who have

convinced themselves that they are effective at doing so. ;-)

 

Bottom line .. I know the per ml cost of everything I sell .. that takes

into consideration ALL my expenses .. not just the above. But it never

ever considers my own time.

 

Knowing all that is nice .. but doesn't give me a lot of flexibility in

establishing prices because there's something else called competition.

I gotta bounce my pricing/profit against rent, insurance, utilities and

maintenance, supplies, and labor costs of my employees .. and then hope

there is something left over after all those deductions.
