Guest guest
Hey Chris > > Are the first hints of spring coming to Alaska > yet??? > Oh yes, the days are now about 12 hours of light and it has warmed up considerably. The snow is melting nicely. The main roads are now free of snow. The side roads well, they will be soon. Today the sun was shining nice and bright and the temp was still warm enough to wear just a light jacket (about 38 - 40 degrees). We had 2 -3 inches of snow night before last and it is almost gone. Break-up is not until end of April, early May so we still have some time to go before winter is over over...but it won't be long and we will be down to short sleeves. My kids think it is funny when I send them photos and we are in short sleeves and there is still a good bit of snow on the ground. > > > YAY! You got a Dremel! That is awesome Yeah it was one of my Christmas presents, I haven't used it much but I do like it. > > I'd love to get into working with stained > glass! > It is really easy. This is the best book I have seen to teach the basics: Basic Stained Glass Making All the skills and tools you need to get started It is from Stackpole Books I picked up from Barnes & Noble for $16.95. I took a basic class from a local lady so that I would understand exactly how to use the different tools. Then I found this book. The book is all I would have needed. The class was nice but in my opinion a waste of $96.00 and 6 saturdays (3 hours each) of my time. > Hmmm, I play bass, so for me it is an advantage > to have those calloused > finger tips > You are one talented lady, my friend. All of my cousins, aunts & uncles play instruments. All my brothers, sisters & children are into painting, drawing and sketching. Me I am tone deaf, don't have the skill to draw very well so I find things like stained glass and aromatherapy blending for my artistic release. I have a software program called Glass Eye 2000 by Dragonfly software that is absolutely wonderful. I can draw my own designs, use one of the patterns that is incorporated with it, or take a photograph, picture etc., and scan it right into the program and come up with a pattern. I can't really get size I want from this program and enlarging it on a copier tends to distort it a bit so I have another software program called Rapid Resizer. With that one I can adjust the size to what I want the actual pattern to be then print it out. > I would say to put a nice rich lotion or cream > on the hands at night, > one with shea butter, and then wear cotton > gloves to sleep. > Thanks, I have a nice lotion but I guess it will take time. I think too, that I will buy some fingertip covers. I saw some somewhere or other and they are supposed to help keep them from getting rough. So probably both together will work. Have fun with you visiting friend and big hugs, Cheryl ===== Cheryl Smith A Heavenly Body Anchorage AK 99508 (907) 222-0886 http://www.aheavenlybody.com Search - Find what you’re looking for faster http://search.
