Guest guest
Hey Peggy, Keisha, other good folks ... > Keisha: > Oh good, I'm glad I'm not alone....making a mistake on an order when you > have to make a $100 minimum makes me agonize and be really cautious. Two solutions to that .. Chris gave one .. samples. The other is to not deal with folks who demand a $100 minimum order. ;-) > In my perfect world there would be no minimums and no shipping charges.... And beggars would ride .. in their cars to their homes where a chicken would be waiting in the pot. ;-) > my perfect world that is, not the wholesalers! LOL Smart wholesalers can give you a part of your dream .. though a dream it is. Parables I like .. so here's one. Young soldier goes on temporary duty to another station. Returns later and goes to Finance to fill out his Travel Voucher and be reimbursed. Filling out the voucher he enters, " 1 lost hat - $19.95. " Completes the voucher and gives it to the Finance Clerk. Finance Clerk says, " You can not be reimbursed for a lost hat .. that's your responsibility .. the US Army is not your parent. " Clerk gives soldier another voucher and tells him to redo it. Soldier does and returns it to Clerk. Clerk looks it over and says, " That's more like it. " Soldier laughs and says, " Hat's still in there but I bet you can't find it. " Same for shipping charges. Them whut shows you the exact cost are doing you a favor. Them whut conceals it are not! .. Sellers MUST collect the shipping charge to stay in business or they MUST overprice the oils. I personally don't believe in Handling Charges. That's a cost of doing business .. how can I sell products without having proper materials. To me Handling Charges are like charging extra for the electricity to run the clippers when you get a haircut .. which is probably happening to some degree but still the barber must keep competitive pricing. I personally don't believe in charging buyers for insurance. They buy and I get the product they purchased into their hands. They are not buying Lotto Tickets from me .. they are buying oils. If the oils are broken or lost then I replace. To purchase commercial insurance or to self insure is my choice. My responsibility CANNOT end when I drop the package into the post office. If I say it does then I have unhappy customers and that's kinda a dumb way to run a business too. Mama Theresa is dead .. and even she (like most sane martyrs) had her ulterior motives. Santa and the Easter Bunny only come once a year and its debatable whether the Great Pumpkin really rises out of the patch. Folks who ship REALLY ship free will probably go broke in time. Why? Because they need to analyze their costs more carefully. They are either out of market range on their pricing .. which will catch them in time .. or they are losing their asses on shipping many orders. I have cost and pricing down to the cent .. and watch it closely. I'm telling y'all like it is .. not like some would like to hear it. ;-) BUT .. I will give y'all a tip or two on ordering. All shipping costs are front loaded .. be it UPS, FedEx or US Postal. The lion's share of the cost is in the first 1-4 pounds or so .. after that the incremental increases per pound are pretty small. Example .. couple of weeks ago a buyer in Hong Kong changed his order and increased the total gross weight by over 300% .. but his shipping costs via Global Express Mail went up but 22% for that increase. Sometimes I tell folks they are making an inefficient order. If they buy one each 20 ml bottle of Peppermint its inefficient! They can ship FIVE or more for the same price. US Postal rates are broken down into 16 ounce increments. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > Peggy, > > I live in the boonies, about 5 hours from Denver, which is where I'd have to > go to get a decent price on the good stuff. YES!!!!!!!!!!! I completely > agonize over everything I buy. I haven't bought many oils and stuff yet, but I > find myself thinking " What if I don't like it? " LOL. All these what if's kill > me, but I guess my bank account is happier for it! > > Keisha
