Guest guest
Hi everybody, As I said in my last post, I am cultivating a hybrid variety of Cymbopogon nardus and it is called Jamarosa CN5. However, a lot of folks are not familiar with this variety, so I thought I will list the ingredients as shown in a recent analysis. The oil has a rosy odour and has the following Geraniol 24.1%, Geranyl acetate 12.6%, Citral - a 11.6%, Citral - b 9.0%, Lemonene 8.7%, Methyl heptenone 6.8%, Cis - B - Ocimene 6.6%, Trans - B - Ocimene 3.8%, Myrcene 2.7%, Linalool 2.2%, Piperitone 2.2% I also have herbs like Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) and Chlorophytum borivillianum and am dabbling in Stevia. Have a nice day! Azam

I have some lovely Jamrosa I got from aromatherapyproducts.info (I like this supplier, very reasonable prices and a great selection. I believe they were/are affiliated with Sylla, no? NCI on my part, just a happy customer). They are the only suppliers of it I have come across before. It is a lovely scent. I diffuse it, and it has a rose/citronella fragrance. What does the CN5 mean? Is that a hybrid? http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
Guest guest
Hi Azam, This sounds like a lovely oil. Just for the record, if you are ever wanting to send samples out I know I'd be glad to experience whatever you've got - and then tell everyone about it I've not seen oils of ashwagandha oil or stevia either! How fun. What kind of scent do they have? *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com ENVIRONSINDIA [azamkhan] Hi everybody, As I said in my last post, I am cultivating a hybrid variety of Cymbopogon nardus and it is called Jamarosa CN5. Guest guest
Hi Chris, I am happy that you like the CN5. I will be more than glad to send a few samples across of all the oils that i have, but my problem is that the courier companies refuse to carry liquids. So, if anyone can figure out a way in which I can send small quantities to you guys at a reasonable cost, I am all ears. I have not extracted oils from the Ashwagandha and Stevia herbs. Actually, the plant part used of Ashwagandha is the dried roots and this is one of the most important medicinal plants in the Ayurveda system. It is used for diseases of the brain and for sexual debilities. Incidentally, the reason I planted this herb was because it is being tested for Alzheimer's disease and my father had this disease (he passed away this morning). Stevia, of course, is a sugar substitute, but, in the US, I believe that there is a ban on calling it a food additive. I have just planted a few of these plants on my farm to see how it grows and the results are encouraging. So, help me out on getting my stuff across to you. Have a nice day.
