I am seriously considering getting some silk powder and hydrolyzed

" stuff " like hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed oats & hydrolyzed soy

to try out in shampoo recipes and body washes (I was thinking of using

the silk in bars of soap too). I've heard they can be used in lotions

and creams too .... Anyone ever used these ingredients, and if so, did

you just love the final product? Any tips to share? Any preference of

one of the hydrolyzed " stuff " over another?

Hi Chris,

I have the hydrolized wheat protein, AKA natrasorb, and it'a wonderful

in lotions to eliminate a greasy feel, and it'a also fabu in bath

powders - it acts to emulsify EOs in water.

I also have hydrolized silk and it's great in lotions too.

Soy quats are beyond my ken - I have some and use them only in

snowdrift recipes, as I havnen't figured out how to go on my own with

them yet.

What I'm really loving these days is silicone oils - dimethicone and

cyclomethicone (naturally derived) in lotions. It's the ultimate in

that luxury feel, and great for hair products.

:)
