advice wanted... charcol incense stuff

Okay, I've never used it and today shall be a fairly quiet day for me, so I

decided to give it a go... besides, I have to start using these charcol

thingees, my son thinks their sweets. I did a bad mummy thing and let him have a

" taste " . But I think he LIKED it... >sigh<

 

Anyway, how do you use this stuff, how much of the resin does one use (don't

want to use to much and waste it and don't want to use too little and waste

the charcol " shell " .

 

Advice would be appreciated.

s'wonderful to see you again Ann. As for Charcoal keeping the 'wind " sweet.

Not on MY husband it doesn't. Boy HOWDY, when that man breaks loose, he kills

all the house plants, made my poor Manx cat lose his tail and stunts growth. My

very short (petite) children are proof (and it's NOT because their mother

comes from a long line of dwarves either). I fed him Charcoal when we were

living

in Oxford... didn't do a THING for that one. >sigh<

 

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to give it a whirl... just a quarter... and

it smokes? Hokay... will go do some Frankincense I think... or dragons blood,

maybe the other stuff, never smelled that before... will let you know how it

goes!

A Car would be a good bet... Went through this with the first three... with

the Third kid, my husband was working away at taking the toilet apart AGAIN

when he looked up at me and said " Why couldn't you have kept your legs CLOSED " .

 

Number 4, we've been more careful, but there are times when it has

mysteriously would clog up!

and let it burn, it will go red and then white

Now add some resin or herbs or incense. You really need to try it out to see

how much you want to use. You can always take some off if you think you don't

like it, or add more if you do, but you won't be able to put out the charcoal!

Hiya Kathleen,

 

If the kid likes charcoal let him have a charcoal tablet, make his mouth

black and its made for internal use. Don't let him eat any more of the

incense coals which are covered in salt peter (too young to start on the

salt peter in the food *lol*) ;-p

 

Be sure to have a heatproof dish, or put a thick layer of sand in the

bottom of whatever you'll be burning it in. You only need about half a

coal. Hold a flame to the end of it, and it'll self ignite (you'll see

it start crackling). When it turns white (gets a layer of ash on it) it

is ready for use. Put a tiny bit of resin on there, let it smolder,and

then knock it off when it starts smoking and add some more. If you don't

knock the old resin off it'll start to burn and get a bitter smell.

I MEANT to say ... knock the resin off when it STOPS smoking .... (it

would make no sense to knock it off when it STARTS smoking ;-p)
