Hey Ylva,

> At first I had descided not to go here, but now reading the last post

> on the topic, I just can't refrain from butting in ;-P I just have to

> tell you, so no one is misunderstanding, that this whole post is

> written in a cheerful, halfway bitchy tone LOL.

If all the bitchy tones were as cheerful as yours we'd be grinning like

Cheshire Cats all the time. :-)

> First of all - I have always thought Mel G was from Australia..isn't

> he?? That can't make him one of the greatest American actors can it??

Of course .. and Sean Connery is a knighted Brit .. but we claim those

we like .. those others .. well .. they're not from America. ;-)

> Second - nope I don't think he is that great and that Braveheart

> realy realy sucks (excuse my poor choice of words). My DH, is of

> another opinion and think Braveheart is OK..why is beyond my

> understanding.

Wait a minute .. the feller gotta have good taste cause he chose you ..

or was the the other way around. Do y'all have a Sadie Hawkins Day in

Sweden? Watch some younguns ask what that is. ;-P

> But, i don't fancy Apocalyps Now,

I thought it was great. But Flight of the Valkries is one of my

favorite tunes .. even though it has no banjos or fiddles. ;-P

> movies with Anthony Banderas or the old For a fistfull of dollars and the

> other spagetti westerns, that Lars claims to be classics ;-)

Lars is a man after me own heart .. Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns I

love .. not that I would call them classics but they danged sure have a

lotta replays.

> Other less than good Mel G movies (in my opinion) is Bird on a wire,

> Ransom and the Lethal Weapon series.

Missed'em all I did.

> I confess that most fo the films regarding the war in Vietnam moves

> me deeply, of cource not from an American point of view, but rather

> the Vietnamese (for obvious reassons since that country gave me the

> greatest gift of them all - my first child - hurray!!). But I totaly

> agree with Butch, When we where soldiers is a great movie!! Here Mel

> realy did some great acting!!

That he did. And I salute you for taking in that child. :-)

> As actors go, I think my alltime modern favorites are Tom Hanks,

Agree .. he is fantastic. And he was right about life being a bottle of

bourbon .. er .. box of chocolates.

> cause he can play almost every kind of caracter totaly convincing,

> and Johnny Depp. Not cause he's handsome (and that he is- ahhhh), but

> since I think that most of the caracters he have ever played, he did

> it differently every time. I love the way he acted in Gilbert Grape

> (Lasse Hallström is SWEDISH!!) - but I confess, I almost swooned with

> pleasure at his caracter in Pirates of the Carabeean. I laughed so

> hard when he sachayed (sp??) around with limp wrists and all that

> makeup. BTW, Lars read somewhere that Johnny D built this caracter

> after having studied Keith Richards hard and long LOL.

I have never seen a movie by that feller and wouldn't know what he

looked like if I saw him in the street.

> With this I retire for the night, Well not of top bed just yet, but

> leaving the computer for today.

Hawhawhaw .. ;-)

All in all .. I'd say that some of the best .. and the worst .. actors

in America can be found in Washington, D.C., and on the television on

Sunday mornings .. all of those cats are great at makeup and showing

emotion and mesmerizing a good portion of the American public. Here in

Turkey, the politicians aren't very good actors .. they don't even try

to pretend they are anything other than what they are .. and they don't

fool anybody. But when it comes time for the elections (Academy Awards)

the folks are forced to vote for those who aren't as bad as the others.

Come to think of it .. that might be the case in most countries. ;-)

> Fragrant Blessings,

> Ylva

And to you .. keep smiling. :-) Butch

Oh chucks Butch, you almost make me blush ;-P You should have known

the " old " me, (that was before cognitive behavioral therapy) - Queen

Bitch of the Universe LOL. Thank God one still have the ability to

change ;-)

Yep, my DH is one lucky guy, but on the other hand I'm one lucky gal

to found him :-D It was kind of late in life and I had all but given

up hope on finding Mr Rightguy. I think the choosing was mutual, it

was just ment to be :-D But prey tell, what the heck is Sadie Hawkins

day??? Haven't got a clue and I thought I know most of them...

Lars is lucky in more than one way, he have the whole Clint Eastwood

spagetti films on DVD. Boy can he watch them over and over, to his

little hearts content - me I go and do something better when he does.

As for my kids, me thinks they where my destiny and the other way

around too. Love 'em to bits and pieces and everyday I bask in the

miracle that they come into my life and are the wonderful little

persons they are.

Now I go and shop some seed compost, so I can plant my chili, tomatoe

and viola/pansys seeds. High time for that around here :-)

Fragrant Blessings,

Ylva
