Guest guest
G'Morning All, Well, I knew something was gonna bring me out of the Lurkorium sooner or later & I'm not at all surprised that it was a Butch-post that did it ;-) >Thyme, Cat > > Cat thyme, Teucrium marum, is a particular favourite plant of mine. And of my cats. I used to have a little bush in my last garden that was all bent & scraggly because my Curly Cat (r.i.p.) nearly loved the thing to death. She used to lie on it, next to it, under it - smooched like crazy all over the little plant, purring her fool head off the whole time. It made her extremely affectionate & cheeky! The catnip in the other garden didn't seem to touch here, yet this plant constantly blissed her out. It never got a chance to grow to it's full height, and the branches grew in a nest shape where she'd nedificate in it on a sunny day. She was particularly possessive of the plant and used to growl at the other cats if they so much as thought about going near it !! So anyway, I got to wondering if there was an EO distilled from the plant. It's certainly *very* strongly aromatic - the smell would stay with her for hours after a good smooching session ! I did some hunting online a while ago and found mention of a Teucrium m. EO used in perfumery in France, but there was no mention of the distiller or a supplier. So now my search is starting again - I would love to get some of this EO if anyone knows where I might source it. And what'm I gonna do with it ??? I dunno ! I just want to smell it ;-) Maybe add it to my cat soap. Jane :-)) .... in overly sunny S.E. Australia where the temps over the last week have regularly hit the 40degree C. mark, and the 14mm of rain that fell last night was a real Blessing !
