Me, I hugs him and Kisses him a lot.

Yesterday, my THEN 7 year old slams his elbow into the floor rollerskating...

big swell up, big bruising... off to the quack we go.

He's fine.

On the way home I takes him out to lunch for his " re-ward " . He's a good

fella.

We're talking about today (his birthday) and I tell him that I've decided to

cancel his birthday. I'm tired of him trying to grow up. He tells me that he

will STILL be playful when he grows up and that I'M a playful adult (cuz I play

with him a lot). I tell him he's a sweet boy, he tells ME " You're a sweet

wonderful woman " (Thank the gods I'm not a bawler or there would have been

puddles all over the place). Then as we are leaving, we're talking about

sports...

" I'm no good at sports " he says, " but I'm gentle and kind. " WHICH by the way he

is, all the teachers in the school love that little boy. He's very polite and

helpful and they just adore him (even though he's infuriatingly S-L-O-W!)

Anyway I point out to him that he's not lousy in ALL sports, he's good at

skating

and skiing for example. I get a hug.

Now what do you DO with a little fella like that? You KNOW it's all him, I've

nothing to do with the way he's progressing in life, it's just the way he was

made. But still... He's a teriffic kid and I'm SO PROUD to be his " mummy! "

and even though I'm not a bawler... " WAAAAAAAAAAAH " !!!

ROFLMAO!

Kathleen -

I don't thinks he's slooow. I think we're all too fast sometimes. I'm sure he

is meant to be a lesson to many who cross paths with him.

I'm a bawling too.....

Hey Kathleen!

I have one of those 7yo boys, too!!! AND, I hug and kiss him ALL THE TIME,

too!

He tells me things like yours did all the time...he knows his Mama's

" special " cause she walks differently...but constantly says he's so proud of

me. Do you know what he did when I fell the other day and seriously conked

my head??? Through his tears, he instantly placed his hand on my head and

began to pray. Then he told me... " Mama, what were you doing up there? You

know better than that...you should have called me to come get whatever you

needed. Don't do that again! " Smart kid, huh??? Sometimes smarter than me!

LOL! He really looks after me though...very protective. Most days I don't

know what I'd ever do without him.

Problem is...I AM one of those 'bawlers'...and he has me doing it quite

often. He knows I am looking for a part-time job since I got laid off on

Dec. 31st....well, when I told him I would have to go back to work at some

point, he started crying and begged me not to...that if it was money I

needed, he would give me all of his...said he didn't need money, what he

needed was to spend time with me. Talk about bawling! My hubby and I are

trying to figure out how I can stay home now...or maybe find a job working

only the hours that he is in school. No matter, he comes first.

Thanks for sharing that, Kathleen!

(I'm a little slow getting caught up on email. Computer still hurts my head

if I look at it too long.)

Hugs,

Kati
