Hi Sharon,

The boogie bear tales about Codex Alimentarious have been around since

it was kicked off in 1963 by the World Health Organization and the UN

Food and Agriculture Organization. To date it has not had a lot of

negative impact though it has created a lot of bureaucratic standards

and as well as positions for more bureaucrats.

Folks in the US are not as accepting of new bureaucratic organizations

as are folks in the European Union .. we even pee and moan about the

creation of a Homeland Security Agency. But the Europeans have had

micro control slowly forced on them .. it began when they accepted the

idea of increasing the size of their Big Brother .. and accepting cradle

to grave .. womb to tomb security under Social Democratic governments.

area.

That might happen in Europe .. the Europeans have already relinquished

their right of self governing .. but I think its not likely in the USA.

> I guess the drug companies smell a few big bucks up for grabs.

Probably .. but until doctors start leaning toward prescribing natural

treatments rather than synthetics from megabuck, multinational, legal

drug pushing companies there is not a lot of gain to them by controlling

grass and leaves and bark. And in the USA they would have a hard time

doing it anyway because we are rebellious people by nature. We are who

we are because Fat German Farmer King George wanted to tax our tea.

I'm not sure who the Aromatherapy people are .. we might have thought we

knew back in the early days of NAHA but we soon found out we were wrong.

Its likely that someone else will (in time) create another

organization to fill the void (won't be hard either) left by NAHA .. but

gaining of credibility for Aromatherapy is a horse of a different color

... for many of the reasons similar to one I pointed out in a post

yesterday .. its too subjective.

I don't think anyone on this list will live to see AT recognized by the

US Gummit as being a acceptable and credible mode of alternative or

complementary treatment .. and I don't think they'll live to see it

controlled because its not easy to control Americans. Prohibition

failed and drug control has failed .. the Gummit is not into creating

more opportunity for failure than they have now .. my opinion.

And .. I would not honor or obey any law that tried to restrict my use

of essential oils. I believe most of the folks on this list would not

either .. so we would technically become users of illegal controlled

substances. ;-)

My position is from one side of the issue and I reckon some other folks

might have a different stand on it .. that's fine with me.

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
