Guest guest
Hi Candy, other good folks .. >>He said the burning stopped immediatly. After awhile he went and >>showered off at the beach. The thing is no one told him that as soon as he >>washed it off it would start burning again. Rahnny > > When I lived in Hawaii, this was also what we were told about the jellyfish > stings. One of my husband's friends (ex-hubby now) got stung, and two of > the guys " peed " on the stings. The burning stopped. Luckily, I never had > to find out! I lived in Hawaii for three years and often saw native Hawaiians use urine on jelly fish stings and sea urchin spines. Its long been used in the South Pacific and there are many tales of it being used by various American Indian tribes. But .. as for jelly fish and sea urchins .. Adolph's Meat Tenderizer will do the same thing. I've been a SCUBA diver for many years and its not uncommon to find that in a diver's first aid kit. > I too have heard that urine is sterile, unless you have some type of > infection. And my mother actually used the urine for me one time, when we > were camping. No doctor for miles. She had me to go in a disposable > cup, and dropped a bit onto a cotton ball, and stuck it in my ear. It > worked! I believed that for years too .. but not now. I think odds of finding a person with sterile urine are remote. Urine contains many of the body's waste products .. from the kidneys. Urea and uric acid being the main chemicals but there are a hundred + more and urine analysis is used to determine disease in many cases .. so I'm not ready to buy sterility. Would I use it for First Aide? In a heart beat I would. > Candy in AL Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com PS: I believe that some of the information on the web site on treatment of Herpes is incorrect and some might even be deliberate misinformation. I'll comment with more than opinion as soon as I get a bit of time. I think there is some extrapolation there .. plus the credentials of the so-called experts making the claims are not flawless.
