Guest guest
Had to add my two cents lol .... I have seen it documented in valid sources that if one is in australia or any waters with those killer jelly fish they have, and are stung, urine will actually help with the knife like burning that insues from coming in contact with the stingers of the jelly fish. .... Personally, I'll just stay out of the water and avoid the problem all together .... bad enough to get stung by the damn thing but to have someone pee on you to help you? Now that's a bit too much for me. Happily playing on dry land! Bill Seraphim's Touch http://store.seraphimstouch.com Essential Oils, Carrier Oils, Bath Salts, and Lotions. Guest guest
My cousin was stung by a jellyfish this past summer in San Diego. He went to the life gaurd station, and they pretty much told him there was nothing they could do. He remembered the " Friends " (tv show) where one friedn had to pee on the other to make it stop burning. He went to the bathroom, and splashed it up on himself. He said the burning stopped immediatly. After awhile he went and showered off at the beach. The thing is no one told him that as soon as he washed it off it would start burning again. Guest guest
In response to Urine being a waste product and filled with bacteria: An elder told me long ago that the American Indians cured ear ache with a few drops of urine placed into the ear. I asked my physician about it and he thought for a few minutes then responded with: Yes, I can see where that would work, the urine contains the same properties as the medication we use. AS LONG as the urine is clear it is free of bacteria and could be used as emergancy medication. Never tried it myself... but an interesting fact that could come in useful if stuck in a remote area with a screaming kid with an earache. LOL! Urine is a WASTE product, and even in a healthy person is filled with bacteria and toxins. I'd think twice about bathing any infected area with it. Whew! there - I feel better! One of my husband's friends (ex-hubby now) got stung, and two of the guys " peed " on the stings. The burning stopped. Luckily, I never had to find out! I too have heard that urine is sterile, unless you have some type of infection. And my mother actually used the urine for me one time, when we were camping. No doctor for miles. She had me to go in a disposable cup, and dropped a bit onto a cotton ball, and stuck it in my ear. It worked! Candy in AL
