Guest guest
That depends on in which media you want to extract the onion into - alcohol, water, oil or glycerine?? I have made a LOT of different extracts, but never used onion. What on earth do you want it for?? I used the raw juice squezed from raw onions to ward of earinfections when Sam was a baby with great success, but since then I only use onion in cooking ;-) Fragrant Blessings, Ylva
Guest guest
Ylva, I am actually attempting to " recreate " a well known formula for scars. (Won't mention the name brand!), and it says it contains Onion Extract. Sooooo, I am guessing that any method would do.....I am not sure. I can make it however.....I have all 4 mediums you mentioned. So, if you can suggest one....and tell me HOW to do it, I would be so grateful! Guest guest
Hi Candy, Don't know if honey is in your recipe, but my grandmother used to infuse onions in honey and give it to us when we had sore throats and coughs. She would fill a small jar with chopped, fresh onions and then pour honey into the jar. It didn't take long before grandma showed up at my bedroom door with a spoon and jar full of onion honey! A teaspoon was about all I could handle, but it wasn't too bad. Hope that helps. Rosanne
