actually, tho... in fairness.. the olive oil used CAN make a difference...

one year my friend made more than one batch, with different bottles of

olive oil...one batch wasn't nearly red enough...had I seen it in a store I

would never have bought it...she was apologetic as all get out...it was the

olive oil...very green, and didn't let the purple/red of the SJW blossoms

come thru.

 

it's the only time I've seen hers that it hasn't been RED... ;)

What month is the right time to pick your SJW for use in poison oak/ivy ? I

can't remember, story of my life lately.

Can SJW be grown in the South? Seems like I read a long time ago

that it couldnt. hmmmmmm

All of a sudden, I'm getting a flood of old emails, and this popped up. I

can answer this question. There are SJWs that grow in the south, but not

*the* SJW. I recently read an article that stated it does best at between

42-47 degrees north or south latitude, and within 200 miles of the coast.

Alkaline soil is best, also.

That's how the friend who makes ours does it. one blossom at a time.
