The worse part is, it gets worse before it gets better because you start sitting and walking and laying in weird ways to stop it from aching... Now, this is not an ad, this is what has worked for me. I made up an oil or a cream with black pepper, Juniper and Ginger in (or Rosemary) and put it all over the ache. By itself this is a warming oil and will penetrate to the ache... however not soon enough or hot enough to suit me... I took a Woobey, heated it up and Slapped it on the oil/shoulder/neck area... The heat fired up and soothed and relaxed the area enough to start working it out. As bad as yours sound it may take a while, but trust me the relief is almost bliss. A Woobey like substitute would do the job just as well, using whole grain rice. Hope that helps a lot. Cheers! Guest guest
Hope everyone is having a good day so far! I'm hoping you can give me some advice here...Tuesday night I apparently slept 'funny' and I woke up Wednesday with a LARGE kink in my neck and upper shoulder. I took a maganese tablet, rubbed on some of my cream, and went to Water Aerobics. It seemed to be better that day, but by that evening, it started stiffening up on me again. It remained that way all through yesterday & by last night I had resorted to taking ibuprofen. It got worse through the night to where I had trouble sleeping... & now it feels like the whole upper right quadrant of my back (the entire area surrounding my shoulder blade) feels like it is knotted up. Ideally, I'd go see a massage therapist, but since I got laid off at the end of December, the money isn't there. My hubby is going away for the weekend for a men's retreat. He's leaving today, so I won't even have him here to massage my shoulder... Does anyone have any suggestions?? Please?? Thanks so much! Always in faith, Kati

My experience has been that St. John's Wort oil is wonderful for problems like you are having. If none is available, perhaps some MSM cream (discussed here recently) from the health food store would help? http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady

You need to look for one in your area!! Neysa
Guest guest
Hi Kati, I just went to my chiropracter for something similar. I had a huge knot in my shoulder muscle size of a golf ball. He used finger pressure (hard) and held for quite some time. The one thing he told me to do after I got home was to stretch that muscle daily. DH has to push down on my shoulder (left), I put my hand on the top " crown " of my head and bring the elbow forward, look at the elbow and gently stretch that muscle out. Hold it for count of 30. Do both sides and repeat. Since your DH is leaving you can do this by yourself, just without the extra stretch of him pushing down on your shoulder. It helps, but will take some time to get that knot out. hth, Margaret > >Hope everyone is having a good day so far! > >I'm hoping you can give me some advice here...Tuesday night I apparently >slept 'funny' and I woke up Wednesday with a LARGE kink in my neck and >upper >shoulder.
