I can answer this for you Neysa, I like to share the easy way to figure it

out :-)

Let's make it easy, since you say she will need a lot (around 3 oz, since

you say she has horrible burn scars, and I'm figuring there is a lot of

area to cover), and just get 95 ml of the rosehipseed oil, and add 5 ml of

heli to that. Voila, a 5% dilution.

Hey Deb,

Technically, its not neat .. its a 10% dilution .. but I know what you

mean. But it were me .. I'd prepare a 5% dilution by adding an equal

amount of Rose Hip Seed (or whatever carrier) to the dilution I had ..

that'll bring you to a 5% dilution.

And y need to state which Heli you are talking about. There is no

answer for Helichrysum gymnocephalium as its not been formally tested.

Helichrysum italicum has been tested at a 4% dilution with no irritation

or sensitization .. and its not a known sensitizer. But then, neither

is Lavandula angustifolia or Melaleuca alternifolia .. but folks have

become sensitized from using them.

A good rule of thumb when dealing with pets, spouses and essential oils

is that even the most gentle ones can bite sometime. ;-P

But .. Heli italicum is a rather costly oil .. and as its been proven

effective at the 4% or so range .. especially with Rose Hip Seed .. why

use more than you need .. and why waste your money?

More is NOT better when dealing with Essential Oils .. its NEVER better.

I'll bet your husband is in great shape .. good for him. And .. I bet

he can confirm the first two rules of thumb above already .. no need to

have him learn that the third one is also accurate. ;-)

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
