I'v never tried it so i can't comment on its help. But if I did try it , i'd apply it to the blemish twice a day. HTH's, Deonia

I'm not recommending this, but if I had a pimple or boil, I would apply a dab of pure tea tree on the end of a clean cotton bud (Q-tip) on the offender. One application is usually enough. I don't put the cotton bud back into the bottle, nor do I cover the sore with a band-aid. Dennis Archer http://www.toona.com.au
Guest guest
Dennis: I tried the Tea Tree last night before bed, in just the method you proposed. I held it there for about one minute. This morning it is half the size! I will apply each night and see what happens. Thanks for the help. I can't believe it could be this easy! Guest guest
I know this isn't an EO, but there are two things that I know will work for these types of things. Take a regular russet potato, and apply some of the scraped pulp of the potato to the boil, cover and leave overnight. Usually gone, or almost gone by the next day. Also, I have used a paste of Slippery Elm and water. Allow to dry on the offending area. Cover with a bandage and leave overnight. Works great! HTH, Candy in AL P.S. I use Tea Tree Oil all the time for other skin problems, but it doesn't seem to work for these types of things for me. It does great for my eczema and rosacia though. Guest guest
Candy: Since I can easily get a russet potato, I will try that. Thanks for the help. The Tea Tree is drying it up so it's not as un-sightly as before. But if the potato can get rid of it overnight, it sounds like a winner to me. Tracey " C. Guest guest
G'day Tracey. I will apply each night and see what happens. You're probably overdoing it holding the cotton bud on for a minute - just dabbed on should do the trick. I'm not sure that you'll need to do it each night - although we haven't proven it scientifically, tea tree seems to work best when it has an infection to fight. If there is nothing there, which should be the case after one application (even if the physical evidence suggests otherwise), then repeated applications are wasting the oil - and may lead to irritation or sensitisation. (As Butch mentions, there are people around who cannot work with tea tree, which is a pain for those who grow the stuff.) So, having used the tea tree as a first aid, and reducing the size of the offender would suggest that you're just about there. If you want, now just wash the offender with salty water - but keep uncovered. It will take time to clear up, no matter what method you use!
